Just because a product is made for the body, does not mean it’s good for the body.
For over 15 years I have prioritized selecting beauty products that were formulated with integrity, rather than carelessness as is predominantly common in today’s market. When I first started, the main concerns were the fact that phthalates and parabens were found to be massively damaging to the endocrine system, but in general the government accepted them as ‘body safe’ ingredients leading to a conflict between what companies wanted to use for cost efficacy in their formulations and what consumers felt safe with putting on their skin.
Today a concern around plastic in its many forms has been added to that concern list, and it’s important to choose products that avoid petrochemical components and ingredients both out of a concern for our planet and our bodies. However, when the entire industry is built on plastics and plasticizers as a norm, that can prove difficult!
